The goal of a lot of spiritual practices is defined very conceptually. This can be helpful, especially for beginners, because it gives clear direction, as well as goals to aim for and measure your progress against.
At some point, awakening practice becomes more subtle than this. There can still be practice aims, but they come from connecting with your inner felt reality rather than reaching for something outside of you.
To make this shift, you need to connect more deeply with the depths of your internal experience, knowing that you, too, are an expression of Buddha Nature. This collection of essays describes this approach to practice.
