1.1 Eight Factors of Good Spiritual Practice
The ingredients for good practice
A lot of my approach to practice is about flipping the usual way of engaging with spirituality on its head – rather than reaching for a state that has been defined by someone externally or exists outside of you, the first stage of practice is to connect more deeply with the depths of your internal experience, knowing that you, too, are an expression of Buddha Nature.
This process is about putting down your ideas of where you think you should be and starting where you are. The practices are about coming into embodied presence and trusting that this is where you are going to find everything you need. It takes time, practice, and guidance to be able to understand and connect to experience in this way.
This section describes how we create a spirituality that connects people with their own embodied truth.
