Podcasts
A podcast for people who are interested in cultivating meaning, purpose and a deep sense of interconnection in life and spiritual practice.
I chat with a series of friends and co-creators about meaningful, impactful and fun projects in action.
You can listen on Anchor or find it on Spotify by searching ‘Creative Adventures’
Episode 1: Work Made Meaningful Part 1, with James O’Halloran
In this four part conversation James and I talk about how work can make life meaningful and how your career can be an opportunity to self actualise. We also bring into the conversation how this can intersect with spiritual practice and ultimately improve the world for everyone.
In this first part we talk about making room for failure, the importance of knowing yourself, lego serious play and creating a better world through meaningful work.
Episode 2: Work Made Meaningful Part 2, with James O’Halloran
In episode two we talk about creativity in meditation, clarifying what success looks like to you and finding belonging.
Episode 3: The Making of a Short Film, with Eamon and Lucy Bourke
An intimate conversation about the themes that arose from our collaborative film-making process and ultimately how we felt that it was an expression of meaning, connection and friendship. Contains some potentially contagious laughter.
Eamon is a professional film-maker and you can read more about his work here.
Daniel and I meander our way around a number of Dharma topics in each episode discussing our thoughts and sharing our own experiences.
Some of the topics we cover:
Part I: the balance of meditating on direct sensate experience and meaning, where meaning comes from, imaginal practice and portal jumping
Part II: one sense door, religion and ritual and setting resolutions in practice
Part III: making room for different types of practices including the dark stuff, working towards a science of understanding spirituality, defining your own awakening and fire kasina and imaginal practice
Part IV: the shape of attention, formations, the Universe unfolding and balancing transcendence with an intimacy with life
Part V: emptiness, its different meanings and generally using words better in meditation and awakening
Enjoy!
In this two-part podcast, I talk to the lovely James O’Halloran about my story and the wisdom I have gleaned from adventuring into the furthest corners of my consciousness.
It was really fun to record and our collective conscious was full of wisdom for those of you interested in finding meaning and purpose in life. It can also be found on Spotify by searching James O’Halloran. You can find out more about James here: jamesohalloran.com
Part One: some of the things we discuss are being present with difficult emotions, feeling like a fountain of light is rushing out the top of my head and living from the heart.
Part Two: Me losing my mind, learning to trust your intuition, shamanic journeying and death, amongst other things.
Daniel and I recorded a conversation in which we talk about some of my weirdest states of consciousness. We wanted to raise awareness of the possibility of reaching alternate states of consciousness through meditation and offer insight into what is supportive for people experiencing these states, to make them as magical and pain-free as possible.
You can find out more about Daniel at his website: integrateddaniel.info
Part One: I give some examples of my alternate states of consciousness and when they were well-supported by people around me.
Part Two: We talk about compassionate alternatives to capitalism, our perspectives on the role of teachers in the Dharma, our favourite types of retreats and a bunch of other interesting stuff.
